Beginning April 9, 2009 all commercial inspections and plan reviews required by the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code (UCC) must be performed by a construction code official certified by the PA Department of Labor & Industry. It is the responsibility of the municipal Building Code Official to insure that all construction code officials working on behalf of the municipality, either in-house employees or contracted through a third-party agency, meet this requirement.
