UCC UPDATE

Website Reorganized
As you will have noted, the Building Codes website was re-organized and revised on January 26, 2005. The most obvious change: the previously numbered links are now unnumbered but grouped in categories that appear to reflect the main interests of our customers. Department Enforcement L&I customers should note the following changes in our procedures and forms: Form UCC-15 APPLICATION FOR ALTERATIONS-LEVEL 1 PERMIT has been revised. Please be sure to utilize the form labeled (at the bottom) UCC-15 REV 1-05.

Form UCC-3 APPLICATION FOR BUILDING PERMIT has been has been revised. Please be sure to utilize the form labeled (at the bottom) UCC-3 REV 1-05.

A number of customers have assumed that the Department's Accelerated Construction approvals entail an expedited review of their application materials. This is not the case, and we have clearly noted this under section E on the "Plan Review and Inspection Requirements page accessed "LABOR AND INDUSTRY ENFORCEMENT".

To clarify how Department employees will be interpreting code requirements that appear nebulous, the Department has prepared (and will continue to prepare) code advisories and will post these on the page accessed by the Technical Code Advisories. Note that these pertain only to work for which the Department has jurisdiction.
