The Energy Rating Index Compliance Alternative (ERI path) was first introduced in the 2015 IECC and is brand new to Pennsylvania. This is the only path in the IECC that considers appliance and HVAC equipment efficiencies and may be attractive to many builders because of its flexibility and the availability of utility incentives for rated homes. Under this path, all onsite energy code verification is done by a Home Energy Rater who performs insulation and air barrier inspections, blower door tests, and duct leakage tests. This webinar will provide an overview of the Energy Rating Index and Home Energy Rating System along with a review of documentation that code officials should collect and examine.
