This one-day program will examine the accessibility requirements for Accessible, Type A and Type B units as outlined in Chapter 11 and Appendix E of the 2015 IBC. Attention will be paid to scoping provisions (when and how many) as well as the technical requirements for how to comply with scoping, using the ICC A117.1-2009 standard. Application to new construction, alterations, additions and change of occupancy will be explored.
The second half of the program will delve into the scoping and technical criteria for playgrounds, pools, spas and hot tubs that are not accessory to one or two family dwellings. This portion will also be based on the 2015 IBC and 2009 ICC A117.1 standard. These requirements apply to all municipal facilities as well as other public or privately owned facilities.
