This program will cover a plan review and inspection process for several common commercial building types, which may include retail, offices, metal buildings, multifamily, warehouses, and schools. The most common type of energy code documentation received by plan reviewers is a COMcheck certificate and checklist, but experience has shown that COMcheck inputs are very frequently inaccurate. The first part of this course will describe a process for working through COMcheck documentation alongside building plans to ensure the COMcheck reflects the actual building design. This section will also describe how to verify that various equipment and control specifications meet code. The second part will describe how to use the approved COMcheck certificate and inspection checklist to verify compliance in the field. This portion of the program will involve virtual inspections at several phases of construction for several building types.
