How do we communicate to our residents and the public that there are or may be other regulatory issues in play in spite of a building, structure or use being excluded from the UCC? This program is designed to explore some of the other regulatory issues that might need to be considered and what methods do we use to inform the public about them?
Some of the topics that will be covered included: applying zoning ordinances, rental housing ordinances, resale ordinances, property maintenance ordinances. For new construction projects, how does grading, maximum coverage by impervious surfaces and stormwater management come into play? When does compliance with Act 537 Sewage Facilities Act become a requirement? What inspections by various utilities are required for exempt/excluded structures? Regulatory issues for buildings being demolished that might be exempt from permit?
