The 2021 ICC Codes, as amended by the UCC Review and Advisory Council, are now in effect, starting January 1, 2026.
All new applications for UCC-regulated work filed on or after January 1st are required to comply with the provisions of the adopted 2021 International Code Council Codes.
Keep in mind that if a contract for design or construction was lawfully executed by December 31, 2025, and if the applicant provides a copy of that contract with a permit application on or before June 30, 2026, their application and plans are to be reviewed under the provisions of the 2018 codes.
Special note: All accessibility codes and provisions, including referenced standards, will continue to use the 2018 IBC and 2018 IEBC and the ICC A117.1-2009 standard.

Our BCO 101 Official Certification Academy is for you!
We offer multiple Virtual and In-Person Academies each Academic Year.
(July through June)
The Academy includes your BCO Manual (updated summer 2026) and your BCO Exam.
The Academy also includes CEU's for your Continuing Education.
We also offer stand-alone BCO Exams monthly throughout the Academic year for retakes or for people who have lapsed in maintaining their BCO certification.
If it is your first time taking the exam, we recommend you to sign up for one of our Academies.
