One consistent source of confusion with the energy code lies in the requirements for existing buildings. The 2015 IECC includes a new (for Pennsylvania) chapter dedicated entirely to existing buildings but the previsions within continue to flummox many code officials and contractors. This course will cover the energy code requirements for additions, alterations, repairs, changes of space conditioning and changes of occupancy and help reduce confusion by applying these requirements to examples of various types of common renovation projects.
