The Pennsylvania Construction Codes Academy (PCCA) makes every effort to present courses on the topics listed on this website; however, the list is subject to change.
Although most courses offered by the Academy require no prerequisites, all courses are directed to practicing code officials and experienced individuals in the construction and design industries. Those without a basic working knowledge of construction codes may have difficulty with the pace of the courses. Self-directed, independent study in addition to workshop attendance is highly recommended.
CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS
Students will receive credit hours commensurate with course hours toward their continuing education requirements under the Uniform Construction Code. Continuing education credits are not related to passing the certification examinations which are required for state certification in each category.
PCCA does not administer any examinations other than the Building Code Official (BCO) Certification Examination, and cannot accept or process applications for other testing agencies. Please see the training and certification requirements for information on examinations.
A monthly calendar of courses is mailed to current students and anyone on the PCCA mailing list, with registration information included. To be added to the mailing list, call 717-236-9469 ext.248 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
CANCELLATION/NO SHOW POLICY
Cancellations must be received in writing by faxing to 717-724-1663 or sending an email to email@example.com . Refunds will be determined by the date of the fax or email. A cancellation received less than 10 business days of the session you are registered for, is subject to a $20 processing fee for refunds. Those who cancel within 2 business days of the session date or do not attend, forfeit the full registration fee and if unpaid, will be invoiced. Credit toward future PCCA courses may be accepted upon approval from the PCCA administrator; substitutions may be accepted. If materials were mailed, a $20 processing fee will be deducted from the refund to cover the initial mailing expense.
ACCESSIBILITY & OTHER NEEDS
All training is held at ADA-accessible locations. Please use the accessibility needs line on the registration form to indicate alternate format, sign language requirements, diet restrictions or any other needs you may have.
The Academy will do everything possible to hold all scheduled classes. In the event of inclement weather at a specific location, please verify that the course is taking place by calling 717-236-9469 ext.248 by 7:00 A.M. on the day of the course. If the course is cancelled due to weather, PCCA will notify you as soon as possible to alert you of the re-scheduled date.
