Handling Complaints Effectively: A BCO Lunch & Learn
This program will present the "real life" duties of a UCC Certified Building Code Official and what a "normal" day might look like - even though there are no normal days! This program is especially geared for those who are thinking about pursuing this UCC certification or who have been asked by municipal officials or third party employers to obtain the certification. This will include a discussion of how to coordinate UCC responsibilities with others involved, such as zoning, flood plain enforcement and more. Please note: There are no CEU's for this class.
Thinking of Becoming a BCO?
This program will explore the constantly changing world of short-term residential rentals providing an overview of the legal aspects and application of the building code. Regardless of what they're named (airbnb, VRBO, vacation rentals, etc.) this program will examine how to apply the Uniform Construction Code, Zoning Ordinances, Stand-alone Ordinances and more. We will also explore the use of a recreational cabin as a short-term rental - a question that has come up more frequently in recent years.
